| Beginner's grooming guide |
| Many people are afraid to try grooming. Others don't know how to start. This is a very short, safe guide on grooming the palm of your hand. |
•Examine the lines in the palm of your hand.
•Observe particularly those areas where lines meet to see how deep the folding has become.
•Now, look elsewhere and place the nail of your index finger inside your palm. Explore!

•Notice how your nail has a tendency to slide into the nearest cavity.
•Try to get to the bottom of one.
•Add pressure for one to ten seconds.
•Go to another spot, put pressure.
•That's it! You are grooming.
•While the pressure is on your skin, try to slightly redirect your nail so it goes deeper.
•If you have the right angle, you will feel it penetrating the skin while it unfolds under the force.
•Alternatively, instead of going for cavities, try placing your nail on the highest ridges you can find and press.
•This tingling feeling you now have in your hand is specific to grooming.
•It contains two distinct sensations: Pruritus is an itch that tells you where to groom and Unpain is the relief that your skin feels.
•With experience, they become your guides.
•Check the results on your palm.
•You will see nail marks where you have groomed.
•Notice how you have worked mostly where folds meet.
•Those deepest or highest areas are «fold crossings».
•Your newly acquired skills can now be transposed anywhere on your body.
•However, your skin will tell you where to groom it through pruritus, itching, aches and pains.
